rachelannepilcher:

Spencer Matthews’ departure from Made In Chelsea has been rumoured for a while.

Now, with the SW3 resident heading to the I’m A Celebrity jungle, he’s revealed that his days regularly sipping Bloody Marys and casually jetting off to the South of France on the E4 show are over.

Spenny spoke to Digital Spy ahead of his jungle experience, and was asked if the MIC door was closed for good.

He replied:

“I

wouldn’t say that the door is closed. I’m pretty close with the execs

on the show. We had dinner the other night and they wished me good luck

with this project. We’re very close and we’ve made what’s been

considered by many to be quite good television for a while.

“It’s not

something I’m looking to revisit. I’d love to help out the show if they

feel like they needed me in a scene or if one of my close friends that’s

still on it needed to lean on me for something – as long as I’m not

busy that week or that day. I’ll help them out.

“I’m not saying I won’t,

but I’m not looking to go back to Made In Chelsea as a cast member again.”

We’ll miss you, Spenny – all we’re not sure *all* the residents of Chelsea will be quite so sad to see you go.

He added that he’s got a few plans developing for the future, saying: “We’re

in development with quite a few production companies at the minute.

We’re talking about all sorts of ideas, but I can’t go into much detail

at this moment. Hopefully, 2016 should be a good year for us.”

Explaining why he decided to give the jungle a go, he said: “I thought it would be fun. I’ve always liked the show and I thought it

would be a great experience. It did wonders for Hugo and I felt like it

was a good time in my career as well. I’m keen to do other stuff than Made In Chelsea.

“Obviously, the exposure is pretty good, so I was keen to go in there

and be myself. I wanted to offer myself the best chance to make my own

shows in the future.”

Hugo Taylor, Spenny’s ex-MIC castmate who came fifth in 2012′s I’m A Celebrity, has also given him some advice about the jungle, including how to make the rice taste better (pretty vital advice actually, since they’ll be eating A LOT of that down there).

Spencer revealed: “Hugo reckons

you fry it in some sort of oil that they give you. It makes it slightly

better than the quite mundane meal it could be. Gives it a Chinese

takeaway feel.”

Good luck in the jungle, Spencer!

I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV, Wednesday at 9pm.
